We are always working on new varieties of fancy show guppies. Our Half Black AOC's (AOC = any other color ) are among my favorites, and I breed several different lines. Although we do not exhibit all the strains we breed, we guarantee all our stock to be of the highest quality. All strains require several years of select breeding before we offer them for sale. Two lines that we are trying to set are Yellows and Gold Multis. Males from the yellows are showing cobra markings in the body where it should be metallic yellow. Only a small percentage exhibit the true golden yellow body color. Until the percentage of quality males improves we will not be offering this line for sale. Our Gold Multi strain is producing mostly Gold Bi-Colored males. Although males produced are show worthy, I am not offering this line at this time. I now have Moscow's available. This is a strain first developed in Russia in the 1980's and further developed in Japan. We acquired this line from a breeder in Japan and a friend from Hawaii. What are referred to as Moscow's today are nothing like the strain the Russian's first produced. The Russian's considered any guppy with dark blue metallic in the head and body area a Moscow. Today's Moscow's are mostly iridescent blue, green, or purple throughout the entire fish. The scales in the body seem edged in black, almost like a bronze guppy. We also have a multi long fin (Geissen or Berlin) strain that throw some males with the Moscow body color. This is also a strain we acquired from Japan.

BLACK AOC & Half Black Leopards

IFGA World Class Champion 1983-1985, 1989-1995. The H/B AOC's (any other color) are probably my favorite
strain of all the guppies I breed. I maintain several varieties, each with different patterns and colors. The half black
body is dominant on the females with most of my h/b aoc's. Many breeders use the h/b
AOC strains to make hybrids for their show fish. Although this type of breeding does produce large colorful males, they are useless for
maintaining the strain. My H/B AOC lines have been line bred for many years and will produce better then 80%
identical males in every batch of fry. What other breeder will make this claim?

With the help of my silver bodied Purples, my neutral green females and my H/B Purple strain I was able (with plenty of patience & selective breeding) to produce my H/B Blue / Greens. Now a set strain that will produce both normal h/b blues & greens as well as silver bodied half blacks. The silver bodied males and females are much darker then their normal siblings. The normal half blacks and silver half blacks breed well with each other. Show males from this line have the darkest h/b body of all h/b blues on the show bench.

I acquired my H/B Pastel strain from Jim Maier of Wisconsin over ten years ago. One of the most popular fish on the show bench. This strain has a half black body with a caudal and dorsal of almost pure white. When young the males seem to have yellow tails. As they mature they lighten and turn almost pure white. Breeders from this strain should be set up at an early age as older virgin females ( in my experience ) seem more difficult to impregnate.

IFGA WORLD CLASS CHAMPION 1993-1995. Also referred to as Half Black Orchid. My H/B Purple line features males with half black bodies and purple/lavender caudals. Females of this strain are usually non half black. Some half black greens are produced from time to time. Crosses well into silver metallic H/B Blue/Greens. This is one of my favorite strains.

1995-1996 IFGA WORLD CLASS CHAMPION. After several years of breeding, my H/B Reds are now producing quality show fish. It is necessary to use a gold red male every three to four generations to help keep the good red color. This line will also produce gray and gold body non half blacks from time to time. This line is not for the beginner as additional tanks are necessary for proper maintaining of the strain.

I acquired my H/B
Yellow line back around 1989 from one of Americas outstanding guppy
breeders, Elvis Bryant of Missouri. This line goes back to the original German half blacks brought to this country in the
early sixties. Although this line produces males somewhat smaller than the average show guppy, the brilliant yellow
caudals with the contrasting black body more than makes up for the size. Every few generations do produce large males
that are equal in size to most other strains of guppies. Not all males produced carry solid caudals.
This line should never be confused with Half
Black Pastels
RED ALBINOS
![]() |
![]() |
These Gold Red Albinos were obtained from Jim Alderson stock several years ago and breed true. Maintaining this strain through rigorous line breeding has allowed me to develop this strain to produce 100% albinos. A very prolific line considering the problems usually faced when breeding albinos. I have used this strain as a cross to improve the caudal color in my H/B Reds. Most breeder do not specify the various problems that are associated with maintaining a line of Albinos. As with most recessive strains there are several fertility weaknesses that are common. This is one of the reason I do not recommend Albinos for the beginner.
This strain has been a special project of ours for sometime. We have finally set the line and are getting 100% Snakeskin albino fry in every litter. As with other albino strains line breeding is a must to avoid running into problems with sterility.

After several years of breeding I feel comfortable to offer my Black line for sale. Not for the novice. I suggest to start with at least two trios as the females do encounter problems when having young. A good percentage of males are almost entirely black.
PASTEL
(AOC) WHITES
(originally classified as AOC)
![]() |
Gold body guppy with a solid cream colored to lavender caudal. Once these fish were classified as AOC at all IFGA shows. Since the inception of the new Pastel class, this line must be show here. Although a most beautiful strain, this line is definitely not for the beginner. This was the one strain that did not adapt to my move to Florida. I hope to have this line available by early fall of 2000.

For anyone that has not seen a Moscow guppy I will try to describe them as the photos I have taken do not do them justice. Moscow's were developed sometime around 1982 in Europe by guppy breeders in Germany and the Soviet Union. From what I have been told the original strain produced males that exhibited a dark patch of blue color in the body up into the head area. I have seen this pattern in some Multi Longfin (Geissen) SNAKESKINS. Today's Moscow's are a much different guppy. The males are almost the same color from head to tail. In a Blue Moscow the color is blue with a dark casting, almost like a bronze color that makes the fish look as though it is etched in black scales. Somewhat smaller than most show fish, pure Moscow's are very striking as far as color. Some breeders have crossed the Moscow's into established lines and do sell these "hybrids" as Moscow's. I too have made these crosses but rarely sell them. I only sell the descendants from my original Moscow line. When the crosses do start producing offspring of 80% or better of identical fish I will offer them for sale.

Developed from stock acquired from Fred Fragasso, which was a Shubel strain.
My Gold Red strain is of a golden body with the males carrying a red dorsal and caudal. The males
from this line are also used to keep my half black reds from becoming too dark. Many
exhibitors use this line to cross with red albinos to produce large hybrid albinos for show
purposes. I have been maintaining this strain for over 10 years.

This strain is very prolific. Blues are among the most popular
of all the guppies at the shows. Originally from Shubel stock. I have been maintaining this
line for more then 15 years. A very popular seller. Crosses well with several strains. A
very easy line to maintain for the novice breeder. Dorsal development is close to the perfect parallelogram desired for IFGA
standards. I have used this line to cross into the Moscow's I acquired from
Japan. Second generation males show some real promise. Another line of these
blues produces some greens that are equally show worthy.

Acquired from Tom Allen stock several years ago. Good green color with decent body size. A very popular fish at most shows. Greens are a good line to use to make crosses with established strains like purples or pastel whites. Females from this strain are as close as you can get to a "neutral female". Some males exhibit what is referred to as a "Parrish" dorsal.

I acquired this line from Terry Wasylink more than ten years ago. At the time his purples were among his best show fish. I believe this was a line originally developed by Stan Shubel. I have been line breeding this strain since. I have found my Purple strain to be very compatible when making crosses into other strains to increase size or color. I would not have been able to develop my H/B Purples without this strain. All males have good caudal to dorsal matching color. This line is very prolific. I recommend this line to all beginners.

1995-1996 IFGA WORLD CLASS CHAMPION This is a very prolific line that produces large broods of multi colored males. The basic caudal color is red/orange with black, yellow, white, or lavender making up the remainder of the caudal color. Most of the Multis exhibited today are descendants of this strain. A good line for any beginner.

This line is not always available. I only breed this line to maintain it. Good snakeskin pattern in the body with solid green, blue, or purple caudals. The dorsal fin is slightly lighter and is a trait I am trying to improve. Presently I am experimenting with several crosses into other solid caudal strains in an attempt to produce other Solid Snakeskin lines.

Very prolific line of good caudal/dorsal pattern of yellow with black dots. I use my Variegated Snakeskin line to create new Half Black AOC lines. It is the Snakeskin caudal pattern that makes a Half Black Leopard. Very prolific, some broods as large as 100+ fry. Not all males exhibit acceptable snakeskin pattern in the body.

Originally given to me as a gift from a German breeder. I have selectively bred this line to increase their size. The colors in these fish are of a metallic brilliance. Green and orange are the dominant colors. Most males carry the double sword trait. This strain is also referred to as Viennese Emerald Green Swords. A very hardy line that can live and breed for two to three years. I also have acquired a line of Albino Double Swordtails from Germany. They are in their 3rd generation and are now available. They are best describes as golden red in color. We now have several new swordtail varieties. We have a Blue/Green Doubleswords as well as Red Double swordtails. The Blue/Green variety are descendants from Don Sauers' old line of swordtails. For those of you not familiar with Don Sauers' he was among the best exhibitors and breeders of swordtails in the IFGA. Unfortunately Don past away recently from a battle with cancer. I was very happy to acquire his remaining stock after his death from my good friend Steve Guyger from Pennsylvania.

I acquired this strain through my friend Gene Baudier, from New York. Gene and I have exchanged breeding stock for several years. He obtained the Japanese Grass at a guppy auction several years ago. I have had this strain now for 3 generations and they produce very colorful Multi type males. The pattern is very delicate and has mostly orange and black with white and blue/green iridescent. This line is very prolific and produces all Grass type males.

At this time my Japanese Metallics are not available. This is not a line for most hobbyists and is best for the advanced breeder. I have been working on this line for a few years now and although the colors are brilliant the overall size of the fish is not. As soon as I get some decent photos of this line I will post them.
We have been working on another type of snakeskin that we are offering for the first time. Although the males of this strain do not exhibit the true snakeskin patter (rosette chain link in the body), they are a truly striking strain. In place of the chain link body pattern the males have what is referred to as "cobra" markings. This is a combination of some rosette pattern with vertical bars. The caudal and dorsal have mostly red color with dotting of black. Some males may be yellow or even golden albino. As soon as time permits we will add new photos to the site.

Blue / Green Bi-Colors
I have been working on my Blue / Green Bi-Colors for the past two years. I originally crossed my Purples and Greens and came up with a multi type bi0color. These are a very large bodied strain which also carries the "Parrish" type striated dorsal. There are two types of males produced. The regular Blue/Green/Purple bi-color pattern and males with mostly solid yellow caudals with some dotting alon the edges. I hope to have some additional photos added soon.
