The Official Publication
of the
International Fancy Guppy Association
Mention the word Guppy, and most people will smile and say, GUPPY???? Many people think that guppies are a little fish that you throw into a tank and soon enough you will have a bunch of little babies swimming around.
In fact some feed guppies to their other fish. Those of us who are eternally in pursuit of the perfect guppy, know that this hobby requires dedication and discipline. You will find that this gregarious little fish will capture your heart and bring you many pleasures and rewards.
The best way to start any hobby is to read about it in their publication. THE BULLETIN, which is published by the IFGA is the most definitive publication dedicated to guppies in the world, and is must reading for all who would like to pursue this hobby. I would like to start this letter by giving you some background on our publication. It is published monthly, except for a combined January/February issue. You will find within it's covers a wealth of information. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced hobbyist, we are confident our publication will guide you every step of the way in starting, improving and maintaining your guppy breeding regimen. You will find articles written by the most knowledgeable guppy breeders in the world. Many of them are Class Champions. You will find articles on how to maintain and improve your strains, along with articles about genetics. Want to know how to cure diseases that you may encounter? Or how to get the most out of your Brine Shrimp hatches, and other live foods. How about the various filtering systems that the top breeders are using? Feeding programs, maintaining water quality, and optimum environment. Each issue of THE BULLETIN affords our readers an opportunity to share the secrets of the world's most successful guppy breeders, and much more!
Unlike other hobbies, there are no secrets among guppy breeders. Information on all aspects of the hobby is there for the asking, show rules and schedules, listing of show point awards. Among other features you will find a Help Line-Hot Line where you can address problems with knowledgeable guppy breeders on a personal level. Another feature available to all subscribers is the IFGA MEMBER CLEARING HOUSE. If you are having trouble locating top notch breeding stock, or would like to try a new strain, the Clearing House has listings of available guppy breeding stock from several award winning breeders.
If you have any information that you would like to share with other guppy enthusiasts, all articles will gladly be accepted for publication.
